Rowupdating is not fired in gridview

rowupdating is not fired in gridview-56

Within the Item Template I have an Image Buttong with a Command Name of "Edit".This works as expected and I can put a breakpoint in the Row Command event handler to see the "Event" command name.

One has it's Command Name = "Update" and the other "Cancel".My problem lies in that the click on the Update Image Button posts back, but neither the Row Command nor Row Updating events get triggered.I have set the requisite attributes in the Grid View tag. I have a Gridview with Auto Generate Columns="False".I am using a Template Field to display my Edit, Update and Cancel 'buttons' in the first column of the Grid View within respective Item Template and Edit Item Template fields. I am developing a web app in asp.net/trying to simulate a desktop app I developed which needs for editable cells in gridviews where users need for increase/decrease the number of rows/columns, being them all editable.

Thanks to your article I can go forward with my personal project, so I am very very grateful.

It is this value that is compared against a Required Field Validator.

Now, you can easily set the Required Field Validator's Initial Value property to "Select an item" or whatever your text was which means that you cannot leave the control whose value or text property is "Select an item" or the text set by you.

The control is extremely easy to use and also exposes design time features.

In this article I will discuss some of the features of the Export Button and how it benefits the developer.

The "Description" and "Choose" columns are template columns.
